Why now
Air quality is no longer an abstract environmental concern — it's a kitchen-table health issue. Communities along busy corridors face higher rates of asthma and heart disease. Children breathe more air per pound of body weight than adults. Workers and transit riders are routinely exposed to fumes they never consented to.
At the same time, the technology to do better — electric vehicles, low-emission standards, transparent product labeling — is here. What's missing is the political will to align our shared spaces with what we already know.
